Starting in Dialysis.

Kidney failure occurs when the kidneys can no longer carry out their functions properly. This permanent deficit is called chronic kidney disease, which can be the consequence of a progressive reduction in its functions, over a long period of time or due to sudden kidney failure (that is, acute kidney failure). In chronic kidney failure, the kidney is irreversibly affected. Many causes can lead to chronic kidney failure; the most common include diabetes, chronic kidney inflammation (glomerulonephritis), high blood pressure, or vascular diseases.
